One of the most important events in the region’s food industry - WorldFood Azerbaijan 2012
From 15 -17 May, one of the most important events in the region’s food industry, WorldFood Azerbaijan 2012, will take place at Baku Expo Centre. Since its launch, WorldFood Azerbaijan has evolved into an effective business platform which facilitates the strengthening of already established contacts, the sourcing of new partners and the introduction of cutting-edge technology to the Azerbaijani food industry. The exhibition is organised by Iteca Caspian LLC and ITE Group plc, and ITE’s network of partners- EUF (Turkey), ITE Gulf (Dubai), ITE China and ITE Poland are all actively recruiting international exhibitors in the exhibition. For the last seven years, the conference has held UFI Approved Event status from UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry), which recognises the exhibition’s adherence to all international standards.
WorldFood Azerbaijan 2012 combines four themed exhibitions under one roof; WorldFood, WorldDrink, WorldFoodTech and WorldHalal, thus covering practically every aspect of the food industry.
Today, government policy in Azerbaijan is increasingly being aimed at the expansion of the non-oil sector of the economy, which grew by 9.4% in 2011 (http://ru.president.az/articles/4107). In his closing speech during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers concerning the 2011 figures, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, mentioned that in 2012 additional measures would be taken to stimulate the development of agriculture and that subsidies would continue to be provided. Consequently, as a reliable foundation for annual meetings between professionals of the food industry, WorldFood Azerbaijan will help to establish international cooperation, diversify the range of food products and also encourage increased investment in and the introduction of the latest technologies to the Azerbaijani food industry.
